Our Partnership with the Jefferson Historical Society

A strong and lasting connection

In collaboration with the Jefferson County Historical Society, Cascade Community Connections developed multiple positions and volunteer opportunities at associated sites throughout Port Townsend.  Clients carry out tasks matched to their own individual interests, skill sets and schedule at locations such as the Jefferson Museum of Art and History in downtown and the Rothschild House in uptown.

Cross Stitch Pattern Organization for the Jefferson Museum of Art and History

One example is a weekly task involving separating and organizing various cross stitch patterns into sealed packets that the Jefferson Museum of Art and History sells in their gift shop and online. Our client has proudly held this position with the Historical Society since 201x.

Daily Duties for the historic Rothschild House

Located on a bluff in Uptown, overlooking Port Townsend Bay, the Rothschild House offers a glimpse into the 1800’s and is even included on the National Register of Historic Places. As such, it requires steady maintenance and particular oversight. Our clients are responsible for daily duties of opening and closing the site, including:

  • ZRaising the American flag every morning
  • ZSweeping the exterior decks and removing debris from the grounds
  • ZDusting and cleaning interior surfaces
  • ZSweeping interior floors
  • ZUnlocking and locking the doors for public access
