Incredible to believe it’s been five years since the formation of Cascade Community Connections! It has been an honor and inspiration to help our clients achieve their personal and vocational goals as we continue our efforts to build a more inclusive society within Jefferson County and beyond.
We want to thank our partners and local employers who have helped make a positive impact on our clients and community by supplying employment opportunities and community volunteer opportunities. Over the last 16 months, we’ve had to face unprecedented obstacles as we maneuver through Covid-19 safety precautions and restrictions. These new challenges were especially hard on our clients. We are grateful for the support from family, friends and businesses to maintain a level of normalcy, inclusion and employment for some of our community’s most vulnerable citizens. Again, thank you.
What can we expect for 2022?
For our Services: This year we have expanded our services to include Respite in Community Settings, providing pre-planned or customizable field trips, outings, and community-based respite for small groups. We’re excited to build on this service as we progress towards 2022, and hope to expand our offerings to safely include activities such as Mariner’s games, trips to the bowling alley, visits to museums and more.
For our Team: Last year, we developed a new logo and officially set up shop in downtown Port Townsend (the transition would not have been complete without the talent and skills of our client Debbie, who helped give the walls of our office a much-needed facelift with some fresh paint!). We continue to seek qualified and compassionate members to join our team of Supported Employment Specialists and Community Engagement Specialists. If you are interested in learning more about either of these positions, read our full job descriptions here.
For our Clients: We know how challenging the last year and a half has been for you. Our mission is to react swiftly and accordingly to ensure our services still meet your needs while providing you with a safe atmosphere. Thank you for your continued involvement in our virtual and in-person community engagement gatherings. We also want to congratulate our clients who secured a new job in 2021 after a rigorous year of economic ups and downs. Your hard work has not gone unnoticed!
